Why Play Music?

Why Play Music?

Music is an invaluable part of the daily experience. It can both inspire others and be a catalyst for inner reflection. It is an exceptional social glue that strengthens the bonds between friends and strangers alike. Not that we have ever needed a reason beyond the joy that it brings, but there are so many other benefits to learning to play an instrument:
  • Builds Confidence
  • Demands and Develops Discipline
  • Improves memory, motor skills, and focus
  • Is the total Package of Intangibles; Mental workout, spiritually enriching emotional outlet
  • Great social activity, whether playing in a band or by the campfire
  • Feeling of accomplishment as we progress
  • Although we think of music as something that comes from the heart, it uses the same temporal and spatial reasoning that underlies math and engineering
Studying an instrument deepens our musical experience. The more we know about
music, the more we hear in music.
