A Little Blurb About Kayla.
Voice Teacher
For Kayla, music has always been a big part of her life, starting with piano at the young age of 7. She attended Denver School of the Arts in high school where she cultivated her passion to pursue music, specifically singing, as a career.
She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music as well as a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from Wichita State University. During her time at WSU, she taught as the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Voice and Opera Performance Department, igniting her passion for teaching.
Her teaching philosophy is to understand the student and meet them where they are in their own unique, artistic journey. Her approach is to tailor lessons to each student’s individual goals/needs, voices, and interests.
She encourages her students to pursue authenticity, growth, and discovery, not perfection, and provides a safe, supportive, and fun teaching environment where her students can thrive.
She currently teaches music at Sollohub Music and The Curtain Playhouse.
