Mateo Segovia is a versatile musician from Dallas, TX, who began his musical journey in preschool starting with choir when he was four, then violin at the age of seven, followed by guitar when he was nine.
After Mateo graduated from the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) in 2019, he continued his music education at Belmont University in Nashville studying Commercial Music and Guitar Performance. Belmont is where he honed his skills in multiple ensembles including orchestra, symphony, jazz singers, and contemporary groups.
As an active professional musician for many years, Mateo brings a wealth of real-world experience to his Denver music lessons. He has performed with various musical acts over the years, demonstrating his adaptability across different genres and styles.
A fixture in Denver’s vibrant music scene, Mateo currently lends his talents to six diverse bands, showcasing his versatility and deep involvement in the local music community.
Mateo’s passion for music is evident in both his performances and his teaching. He strives to inspire his students not only to master their instruments but also to embrace the joy of creating and sharing music with others.
With over 5 years of teaching experience, Mateo taught for Traveling Music Lessons, In Home Music Teachers, and School of Rock before joining the staff of Sollohub Music.
When not teaching or performing, Mateo enjoys exploring new musical styles and collaborating with fellow musicians to broaden his artistic horizons.
