A Little Blurb About Phoenix.

Voice | Piano Teacher

Phoenix Gayles has over 14 years of professional teaching experience in voice and piano, serving as the Primary Vocal and Acting Coach for St. Catherine’s School of Fine Arts, Piano and voice instructor at My Music Skool, Vocal Coach and Director of the University of South Florida’s Honors College Philharmonic Choir and as a Graduate Assistant to the Vocal and Operatic degree programs at USF. She is very experienced in teaching all styles of music, whether it be classical, musical theater, pop, country, rock, or hip-hop with both voice and piano. Also, for students who strive to pursue a stage career, Phoenix has an extensive background in theatrical and dramatic techniques.

Phoenix’s teaching philosophy is based on an individual structured teaching method. She believes that:

“Creating music, in all its forms, is an incredibly personal experience. I believe that every student of music is unique in both their learning style and musical journey. It is my job, as their teacher, to create a safe and enthusiastic environment for them to explore both their personal and professional levels of achievement.

I believe in setting standards and expectations that are high enough to encourage students to achieve goals that they thought were not possible. I also believe it is not always the success of those goals that really matter but rather the journey each student takes to truly discover their own voice and artistry. I think that any student has the ability to succeed with the right guidance and tools and I do everything in my power to give that to each and every one of my students, through a very fun, upbeat and encouraging learning environment.”
