Jeff Sollohub is the founder of Sollohub Music, as well as one of it’s guitar and bass teachers. Before that, he was head Guitar instructor at Stubb’s Music for 5yrs in Tallahassee, Fl. Upon moving to Denver he held positions as head instructor at The Musician’s Superstore, Well’s Music, and The Music and Arts Center in Denver before opening his own school. Coming from a family of educators (teachers, tutors, and principals), he has learned so much about the qualities and ideals that make for a great teacher and has put together an unparalleled staff.
A lover of all music, Jeff listens to, has studied, and performed every style from rock to classical, country to rap, blues to salsa, metal to jazz, Celtic to African and more. He holds a Degree in Professional Music from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, studied classical under former Syracuse University Professor/virtuoso Dr. Alison Bert , has studied and performed Carnatic and Hindustani Music and Sitar with Nalini Vinayak ( former Director of Indian Musical Studies at FSU), and has played/toured with various bands/troupes/ Orchestras over the years, ranging in styles from Rock, Punk, Metal, Classical, Rap, Blues, Reggae, Fusion Bands to World Music Troupes.
He has been teaching students of all ages, interests, and levels for 20 years. It has never been lost on him just how lucky he is to play and teach music for a living. He feels so lucky to be a positive force in people’s lives, a joyous part of their week, and loves inspiring and being inspired by his students.
