Wellington Bullings is a wonderful combination of knowledge and experience, passion and patience, and versatility as both a teacher and a performer.
Wellington has taught voice and piano lessons at Boulder Music, Whole Body Singing, and Performance High before joining us at Sollohub Music. As a vocal instructor, she aims to teach the importance of healthy vocal technique, without compromising artistic preference. Her intention is to give students the proper tools they need to stylize intentionally, without limitation. Whereas many singers spend their careers imitating the greats (which can be helpful as an exercise), Wellington helps her students discover their individual sound, exploring the unique character of their voice in a healthy way.
She studied music at the Cornish College of The Arts (Seattle, WA) and the world renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where she received her degree in Songwriting and Vocal Performance.
Ms Bullings is a staple in the Denver music scene and can be seen singing/playing piano at many of Denver’s premiere venues such as Dazzle Jazz, Nocturne, Fox Theater, The Soiled Dove, and Syntax and heard on Denver’s radio stations, KUVO (Jazz ensemble) and KGNU (local female songwriters series). She is well versed in musical theater as well, having performed lead rolls in Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, and more. Wellington has written and placed music in Film and TV, written and recorded with Grammy nominated producers and musicians, and was personally recruited by the producers of “American Idol,” to perform on the show. We anxiously await her self-produced album “Because I Want To” (expected release in the spring, 2019).
