Ani Powell is an incredible talent, both as a teacher and a performer. As a performer, she is the pianist for both the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Colorado Woodwind Ensemble. As a teacher, she has been been guiding students young and old for over 14 years, since 2008.
Powell started her musical studies at the age of 6, when she entered the Sayat-Nova Music School where she frequently won recognition for outstanding performances and for her own compositions. Ani graduated with Bachelor of Music in piano performance from University of Denver. She was a recipient of Daniel L. Ritchie endowed full tuition scholarship for four years and additional talent scholarship. As an endowed student at University of Denver, she also worked as an piano instructor at Colorado Music Quest, as an accompanist with the Denver Chorale, and was a laureate of the American Protégé competition in NY.
Powell received her Masters in piano performance from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she worked as a graduate teaching assistant and accompanied Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra, Fairbanks Youth Symphony, and various chamber groups.
Ani Powell’s love for many styles and genres has found her performing with everyone from both the Denver Philharmonic and Colorado Woodwind Ensemble to Broadway musical productions and as a guest artist with the Denver School of the Arts .
